The Quiverful Books Story

Quiverful Books is a company owned and operated by creative entrepreneurs who have over forty years of marriage, family, ministry and business experience.  In a publishing landscape that is being reshaped by technology and AI, we believe that the human creative process, under the influence of the Holy Spirit of God, will always deliver the most genuine, biblically-centered stories.  We believe that technology serves the creative process and not vice versa. It is our goal as content creators to deliver quality, God-inspired media that will encourage you and your family through the timeless truths of God's word.

As published authors of both music and books, our founders, Drs. Chris & Laura Smith, understand the creative process.  Chris brings to Quiverful Books a background in music publishing, songwriting, and recording, having worked with multinational companies in developing songwriters and music artists over four decades.  Laura, a prolific author and Naturopathic Doctor, has had more than 20 book published and has several self-published titles. All of this while raising six amazing children!  Together they have more than forty years of devoted work in local church ministry, currently serving as the founding pastors of Eastgate Creative Christian Fellowship in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

Founders Chris & Laura Smith

In 1995, with a growing family of soon to be five children, Chris purchased a large conversion van fully equipped with a TV, Stereo System, and Playstation. The van became an iconic symbol for their unique family. Having read Psalm 127:5, Chris decided to order a custom license plate for the van that spelled out: QUIVRFL. The family van became known as the QUIVRFL Van!

"We tried to teach to our children the value of 'the team' in our family. Teams are always stronger than individuals, and we live in a culture that celebrates individuality over the value of the team. As a result, families are broken, children are isolated, self-focused, and struggling for identity. The scriptures teach us a better way. They teach us that we were created by God to be connected, inter-dependent with one another, not independent. Laura and I intentionally looked for ways to communicate that each member of our family has a unique purpose from the God, but that we each accomplish that purpose most successfully and happily through knowing that God created us to be connected to something larger than ourselves. The QUIVRFUL Van reinforced that idea. In the Psalm 127:5 reference, the quiver was the place where the warrior kept his arrows. The arrows were safe and made ready for their intended purpose inside the quiver, not isolated and outside of the quiver.

The Psalm further states, and we believe, that children truly are a gift and a reward from the Lord. And, because children are a gift and a reward, family is the first and most important ministry we engage in while here in this life. No family is perfect, but we believe that the truths conveyed in the scriptures reveal how family is to be portrayed in the earth when God is intentionally pursued by each member of the team. We've learned that success in marriage and family does not come through doing everything right, it comes through each person knowing how to make things right with God and the other members of the family when they don't go right. It's is our hope that Quiverful Books will continue to communicate these and other timeless, biblical truths through our content for generations to come.”
